Sustainable what is sustainable development?

can someone tell me what sustainable development is and maybe give me an example?

According to wikipedia, “Sustainable development is a pattern of resource use that aims to meet human needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but in the indefinite future.”

As far as examples, there aren’t many. Rather than telling me that people try to oppose it, try to waste their resources like the above site might tell you, this tells me it’s really hard and impractical. But a paper company’s or Christmas tree farm’s tree forests could be sustainable, because they are planting more trees than they are harvesting.
