Green Building Q&A: What are the best locations for Cordwood Construction?

Question by bltking101: What are the best locations for Cordwood Construction?
I am doing an essay for my Architecture class in high school on Cordwood Construction. The project is to research any form of green building. I have my essay done except for one detail I cannot find anywhere! What locations is Cordwood best in? I think its anywhere except extremely cold or warm locations, and depending how thick your insultaion is does it matter? Please help! Essay is due tomorrow!

Cord wood construction has been used on the high plains in northern New Mexico, but I don’t know where else. The climate needs to be relatively dry, and stable. Moisture will swell and shrink the cord wood, causing cracking in the outside walls. Termites and carpenter ants are also a consideration.
