top easy tips for saving energy, which everyone can participate in would be good! – e.g turn the lights off.
and maybe something about buying sourcing foods from local farms, and is this better for the environment than buying out of season goods from supermarkets
And how to encourage students to be greener, and to recycle.

You could go safe and use a tan or light brown, but if you want to be bold I would suggest burnt orange or mustard yellow. Eggplant is pretty too. You could just paint one wall a bold color and the rest a neutral shade–I love that look!

I think tan and beige pretty much go with anything. Earth tones would complement rich burgundy and green suede, in my opinion.

I like to leave my mom, who passed away last year, little gifts at her head stone. Since I leave things for Christmas, her birthday, and mothers day I realized how much stuff could accumulate. I have brought balloons in the past and flowers(commercial) but I don’t think these things are very eco-friendly. Not to mention greeting cards I leave as well. I live in the north so I can’t bring fresh flowers very often I don’t think commercial are the best or truly genuine. I also thought about planting something but I really like to bring something new at these different holidays. Any unique eco-friendly suggestions would be great!!!!

For my fathers, I mulched it to keep the weeds off and planted flowers. It turn out really nice.

We want to have built a solar/green/eco friendly home about 30 miles west of Portland, Oregon, in the country. I need an architect who is not too fancy and doesn’t overcharge, but is competent, has contacts, experienced, and good ideas for folks who choose not the mainstream but something beautiful and unique. We want the house built only to sheetrock as we want to do much of the inside/finishing work ourselves. We read Mother Earth Mag and like the back-to-basics things we see in there. We would rather have quality than quantity and love the wood/rock/metal combination with earthy tones. Budget is $ 200,000 max including permits, etc. Already have well, electricity, and septic on site.

Get some cushions in green,cream and also maroon. Get some cream candles and put them on green or maroon dishes.
Or get a nice rug that suits your deco re.
Mirrors are great, they make the room seem spacious, and light.
