Green Living Magazine Why do magazines and books waste more paper writing about how to be "green"?

Question by Aycora Bayduv: Why do magazines and books waste more paper writing about how to be “green”?
I go to the bookstore and see magazines devoted to “green living” and rows and rows of books on how to be “green”. They use paper to teach you to be green, then tell you to buy more stuff to be green. Isn’t the best way to be green is to live a more simple life and do with less? I don’t understand how replacing everything you own with a green version of it helps with anything. Where my grandparents live (in another country), the garbage truck comes seriously once every 2 weeks or something. And when people do throw out stuff it is not a huge garbage can. People there just buy less stuff. Of course, the economy in that country is not as great as America’s economy but it is more “green”.

Don’t you think this “green” stuff is a huge farce?

People think they can buy ‘green’ like a product…Americans think they can buy anything, spirituality, eternal life, love, happiness….it all comes in a package…sad isn’t it?
