Green Living Facts Why haven't the chilis on my plants tured from green to orange?

Question by Michael S: Why haven’t the chilis on my plants tured from green to orange?
I live in England and have been growing Cheyenne chili peppers outdoors. The plant has produced a reasonable amount of good sized fruit so all of this is fine. However, the chilis have not turned from green to the orange that they are meant to be. The harvest time for the plant is August onwards so surely this should of happened, or at least started to happen by now? Does anyone know why this may not have happened? Any ideas/suggestions/advice gratefully received! Serious answers only please. Oh, and i’m pretty sure it is not to do with the temperature here as it has been a warm/hot summer so I doubt this is the cause.

the temperature and climate does indeed have something to do with it. But give them a few more weeks. Cyanne peppers are grown in warmer climes. I live in deep south Texas and my peppers sometimes don’t change color ’till September.
