Green Energy Live Green still in plant?

Question by Momto8gr8: Green still in plant?
We have a raspberry and grape plant that we bought, and at first, they put on leaves, but have stopped, they fell off. But, there is still green in the remaining twig..Does that mean it’s still alive, and there’s hope yet?
Would it hurt to give them some fertilizer? I have a ton of rabbit poo that I can throw on there…hhmmm…

Plants don’t have a circulation system like animals……so death is not easily confirmed. Plants live off stored energy. If the plant’s energy level is too small, it cannot carry on basic functions. The twig could still be green, but the energy load too small…..green would indicate photosynthesis is still possible but the energy produced thru the process may not be enough to “power” all the other metabolic processes. What I’m saying is…….wait and see. If there is enough stored energy inside, new leaves will form. So don’t let the plants dry out, thus killing the roots, but also don’t keep them soggy to where the roots rot. Make sure the plants get the needed sunlight and proper temperatures.
