Green Living Forums Hi. Will the Philippines let me leave with 2 months left in my passport?

Question by : Hi. Will the Philippines let me leave with 2 months left in my passport?
ME: Filipino citizen with a Filipino passport, legal resident of the US (green card holder), living in LA.
WANT: To travel back home after 20 years for 2 weeks in May 2012 and eat street foods.
PROBLEM: My Filipino passport expires in July 2012.

Hi all. I’ve done some research (online forums, .gov websites, called US airways, called US border and customs patrol, called LAX) and the general consensus that I got is that… YES, I can travel back and forth between both countries as long as my Filipino passport and US green card is VALID (even if it’s expiring in less than 6 months)… according to AMERICAN RESOURCES.
Now, there’s some talk about the 6 month passport validity where one can’t travel internationally with a passport with less than 6 months before expiring.
From what I understand is this:
1. It doesn’t matter because being a Filipino citizen, I am part of the “6-month-club” (the US customs and border patrol in LAX are aware of this, I called 2 hrs. ago. Not sure for other airports) which extends one passport validity past the 6-month rule, as long as it’s NOT EXPIRED… the 6-month rule only applies to a passport for any national when it needs a Visa. True or false? Show your work.
2. I’m good to re-enter US soil due to my “green card” (and, if one wants… any other US issued ID).
3. It will be up to the airline of your choice whether you can travel with them with a passport with less than 6 months before expiring, depending on their policy. I know. But this is from US customs in LAX. Called a travel agent after, and they were like… “really?!?”

Here’s the thing: according to the philippines immigration website… the answer is just “NO”. Now, I know I can leave the US. I know I can enter The Philippines. I know I can re-enter the US. But I don’t know if I can leave The Philippines.
Love to call the Pinoy console, but they’re closed for the next 4 days. Love to renew my passport if I get to the Philippines, but there’s not enough time due to the whole biometric epassport thing. Love to get my Passport extended, but it’s not a life and death/work situation… it’s for a wedding.

Thank you all VERY much in advance for all the advice!

PS
There seems to be a lot of questions on this subject but nothing on what happened after. I’ve been deported from Amsterdam before due to Visa requirements… I feel you. I will repost and share whatever happens.

No worry if you have low profile, I mean if you are not a public figure. You can stay as you want.
