Question by !!Basketball_player!!-#25!!: Green Pool Water?
My aunt has a pool and she apparently doesn’t clean it… We also have a pool and I know how difficult it is to clean it constantly, but there is no excuse… My brother goes for visitation at my father’s and they allow him to swim in this pool… My brother was wary about getting in but they convinced him that it was green because the well water and the chlorine made it green… Are there any diseases or illnesses that he can get because of swimming in the pool… Thank you all so much…

I can SO relate! We have a 20′ x 40′ in-ground diving pool which we are loosing 2 – 3″ per day from to evaporation. We use our well water to re-fill every night but then we get the green cast to the water! Drives us crazy. We have had to put MANY gallons of bleach in the pool weekly to take out the green. The water tests OK but the color is not the clear look that we prefer. Some of the green cast is iron content/rust which is a bugger to get rid of. But have your brother borrow the test kit and run a test on the water before he swims if he’s really concerned about the quality. But my guess is it’s the same problem we’re having.
