Question by Average College Student: What should people do to support Green Laws as US Policy?
Henry Waxman D-Calif is an American Hero. Where is the right wing’s source for the Green Jobs lie?

Environmental justice has not only made great strides, it has created green jobs. After ozone killing freon was banned, R22 needed improvement. Instead of going back to freon, Waxman-Markey was created. It forces homeowners to hire a HERS to inspect their system to suggest ways to make it more efficient. Title 24 in the Calif building code specifically requires homes to only pay about $ 3000-$ 4000 to save $ 15 a month. That’s almost $ 200 per year homeowners save.
They Waxman-Markey bill is a law that is truly saving not just the US but the planet as well.
People are trying to get around the law but UCLA and UC Berkley have a way to enforce compliance and get people to act with their environment in mind.

How to Go Green While Shopping
Step
1
Use reusable canvas bags when you go shopping. I use them not only at the grocery store but when I run to the shoe repair and on my jaunts to the post office and the local hardware store. I always keep a canvas bag or two in my car as well-and they are easy to clean.
Step
2
Buy local products when you can. I love to go to farmers markets. If you stop and think about it, do you know how far the food in your grocery store has traveled to get there? Think of all the gas those vehicles used! It may be a bit of a change at first, but it WILL have a positive impact on the environment.
Step
3
Walk or ride your bike to run errands. I used to use my car to run lots of errands, but now that I live in a big city, everything is at my fingertips. When the weather is nice I don’t need to drive to do my errands; walking or bike riding allows me to spend some time outside to enjoy my surroundings-and keeps my car at home!
How to Go Green at Home
Step
1
Replace all of your light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. The bulbs may be more expensive, but they use less energy and last longer. They are worth the money. And always turn off the light if you leave the room.
Step
2
Unplug anything you aren’t using. I’m sure that just like in my house you have power strips full of chargers for your blackberry, camera, video camera and computer. Did you know that if you leave a charger in while not using it you are still drawing power? I know it won’t make sense to unplug a cable box, but unplug your TV and stereo. You’ll see the difference in your electricity bill.
Step
3
Clean your house with eco-friendly products. There are natural products that are safe for you and your family and the environment-and clean just as well-if not better than the name brands. Seventh Generation is great and leaves a nice scent in your kitchen, bathroom and when doing your laundry. It’s natural so there are no harsh chemicals or smells.
