Green Living Facts Applying for green card?

Question by lilbubba713: Applying for green card?
So here is my question. My future wife and i met thru my brother. She was actually married to him and was able to help him get a green card. However the marriage ended over some time…and over the years her and I became very close and now want to get married. We suspect there will be some difficulty for her to try and apply residency for me due to the fact that she was married to my brother once…can anyone give me some advice. Thank you
Yes I am already in US I been here for 5 years on a F1 Visa…I will be here for a few more years finishing my PHD.
I really appreciate all the great advice…we both know that this is something that is going to be very difficult. It is really sad because this is a situation that even when you take out the immigration part of it…it has really put a strain on my family but what do you do….things happen beyond your control and it is difficult to chose between your heart and everything else. I think as far as immigration goes…maybe we can be married for ourselves and worry about immigration way later. Although, I’m not sure that will even help but at least we can do what we feel is right for us as a union.

So in other words you are already in the US? If so there is nothing she can do.
Besides USCIS would definitely look at this very closely.

PS:
USCIS will still look closely at this case.
