Question by James: Is greed stifling the development of environmentally friendly technologies ?
While you may see commercials from oil companies and big corporations etc telling you how much they are investing in green technologies are they just a ploy to pacify the public?.
Do you think in reality they are just spending a very tiny amount of there vast profits on token research to keep the environmentalists quiet while they carry on business as usual!.
After all there profits will slump if energy saving technologies become the mainstream big business will not profit from less consumption by the public will the greedy oil barons etc let this happen?

You see, I’ve had the same thought, but I don’t think that a lot of alternative energies are as straightforward as we think. If these people were so greedy and could invest in an energy technology that was truly long lasting and would set them apart from the industry, I think someone would have started producing them commercially. In reality, I think it is more likely that these technologies are not sure fire things which is why we are seeing rather little investment.
