I would paint your walls a neutral color like a pastel yellow color. Also, some white sheets or some light blue sheets for your bed would look nice too. It provides that clean look.
If you have some money, you could buy one of those butterfly chairs. I don’t think that is too girly, unless you buy ones with sparkles or a pink chair or something.
I know this may be a little out of date, but they still may have some of the things…you can go to Target and get some really cool desks, a dresser, a book shelf, some table lamps or anything designed for college dorms and they look pretty cool and modern.
I live in an apartment right now, but if I had my own place, I would probably have a light brown, pastel yellow, or light green colored wall with some neutral color furniture. I like earthy tones a lot. I also like white and sky blue. They just scream “CLEAN!” to me. I am not a clean freak or anything, I just like it when things look nice.
