Question by John Johnson: How hard is it to obtain a Green Card for the US, and how long does it take?
Title says what I need. How hard is it to obtain a Green Card to be a permanent resident of the United States of America? How long does it take? I intend to apply at the age of 18, and how long would this approximately take? I’d like to be a permanent resident of the US at the age of 18, when should I apply for a green card then? I plan on moving there, study there and work on retail, or any job to just survive temporarily until I move on to the career of becoming an LAPD Officer.

Start at uscis.gov The process is long and involved, especially if you don’t have job skills that are in demand.
