What do you think about my diet?
I’m a runner who has become lazy and have gained a significant amount of weight..so i am on a quest to lose it and to get in shape
i think i’m going to run 6 miles a day and my diet will consist of 2 egg whites for breakfast with green tea, apple for a snack, salad with a quarter pound of chicken for lunch, yogurt and celery for snacks , and a protein shake for dinner…
will this work?

I’ve taken track for years, and I know that if you’ve become lazy and gained weight starting at 6 miles a day is WAY too much. For a week, try one or two. Then each week, maybe add about a mile a day. If you feel like you can eventually do 6, that’s fine but you’ll want to gradually increase it. DON’T FORGET TO STRETCH!
Now, I’m not a food expert, but apples are definitely good snacks as opposed to junk fod. The salad sounds good, make sure there’s enough vegetables in it, but don’t skimp on the dinner!
The protein shake is good though.
It will work if you stick to it and make no exceptions. As long as you have self-control, however, don’t be afraid to treat yourself to a cookie or something once a week or so.
