Question by nicky: Are green marble accents in a house extremely outdated?
We just bought a very classic house with a nice entrance. There is green marble on the vertical side of the stairs and a cream marble where you step up. Don’t really like the green though. Is there any product in the market beside paint to alter the color of the marble?

I don’t think so. The green is the stone itself, and of course marble is well known for being hard.
Perhaps there is another way of designing around it so that the entry looks more modern, without destroying the marble.
How about a modern piece of furniture, a modern light fixture, painting around the marble in a natural color, adding a modern plant arrangement like a large living bamboo, and perhaps a modern door? If the other elements of the room are more contemporary, the marble may not seem as dated. What do you think?
