Sustainable Green Living what makes the "greener" version of houses different from the "normal" version of houses?

Question by central.art: what makes the “greener” version of houses different from the “normal” version of houses?
some greener cleaner curiosity here,what make a green house(not the plant thing) different from a normal house
do greener houses have lights that turn themselves off or something all the differences please and thank you :)

The green house has items that are included to make less of an environmental impact. Obviously the basic desing will be the same as a normal house but one improvement you already touched on. Light sensors would stop some jackass from leaving the lights on. Other systems can be a smart ac/heating system which will turn off when you aren’t home to save energy. Solar panels can be put on roof possible with skylighting to minimize draw with electricty from the grid. Maybe a personal wind generator on the roof with storage batteries in basement. Walls can be insulated with recycled material and possibly even build a good part of the house underground. A diverting system could take shower water and use it to water the grass or a garden. Same with dish/ laundry water. Hanging lines to dry clothes with. The list goes on….

Anyways the house will stay the same basically they would include seperate small changes to be ‘green’
