By ripping the entire top off a mountain, throwing the remains (tailings) all over the place, sometimes letting this pile of detritus slide down what’s left of the mountain & destroy everything in its patch, drilling huge holes in the ground, sending people down into them with minimal safety guarantees to carve out what didn’t come off the top, and hoping to God no explosions (from gas) or cave-ins occur. Who needs solar?
