Question by Caller Unknown: Living Away with Green Card?
I am a green card holder, it is possible for me to live in the US for 6 months and live in my home country for another 6 months. Also will I be eligible to file for US citizenship. If not it is not really important for me to become a citizen.

If you are eligble for U.S. citizenship at this present moment in time then I would file the N-400 now, before commence with your plans. This will save a lot of possible problems.
If you are not eligble or do not want to wait until you are then theonly two things you can do is to apply for re-entry permit, this is Form I-131 and the cost of filing $ 305 and can be downloaded from the website below.
Also remember that to reduce the risk of being considered to have abanoned residency, continue to file your tax returns with the U.S.
The re-entry permit and the continuation of filing your tax returns will significantly reduce the risks of any problems but remember the re-entry permit does expire, so make sure you remember to keep track of this date.
