Brown And Green Living Room Ideas Re-doing my room- teen?

Question by jordygrl: Re-doing my room- teen?
My room has been white since we moved in to our new house and im finally ready to do someting with it. My furniture is mostly wood, i have a set (bed, dresser, side tables) that is kindof a lighter stain and a modern black desk (i was suprised, but they actually dont clash horribly). I originally wanted to go with an “island” theme and paint my room a nice brown. A natural theme is still apealing but i dont want to have to stick to a themed decor, so ive decided to paint one main wall green (a sort of lime-ish bright green (not neon at all!)) and the other walls a dark brown. Decor wise i will be doing a collage-type project with mirrors on the wall area by my closet and hanging some of my paintings. Does anyone have any advice, comments, ideas, objections, help with visualizing the color, etc? Any help is welcome…thanks so much!

Add 2 white wicker chairs in the corner of your room with pillows to compliment the color palettes. Since your wall is lime-ish green… you can add white sheer curtains and place a grass skirt served as valance. Simple project… use hot glue gun and attach the grass skirt on the white curtain rod. Place a lamp over a plant stand (painted in white). Add a LARGE green palm plant behind the chairs to give a beachy look. Add pictures on the wall to bring the outdoor indoor.

Second thoughts: Brown walls may be too much for the “Island” theme room . You can add little blue into your remaining “Lime-ish green” paint to give teal color to reflect the color of the ocean. Sea grass rug with beige fabric edges is wonderful accessories in the room. Don’t forget the candles. Be sure the color of the candles is bold to compliment other colors. Maybe Yellow and Blues will go well with green even with your furnitures.
