Green Construction For bathroom construction, is greenboard still up to code to replace drywall?

I think it is in New York they have to use something from the cement board family. Green board may be, but it is not meeting builing codes.

Wonder board is the trade name for what you want as well as Hardi-backer. What you want for areas not being covered by tile is Dense -glass or one of the other sheetrock style products with no paper skin. The paper , even with green board wicks water and serves as a medium for mold. Green board should still be code for areas not directly in contact with water. Call a drywall supply in your area for advice.
