Question by : Does anyone feel tired of technology and the slump of humanity?
I think the film Avatar re-awakened alot of these feelings of being bored with technology in alot of people, it brought out the primal side, the green side of humanity. I get so bored with modern living, I would give anything to live like the Nai’vi do on Pandora, they know what man needs to survive; family, friends, food and faith.

This is a very relevant question that I think a lot about, and actually wrote a paper in sociology several years ago about this topic. Though technology definitely plays a part in a lack of social interaction, I don’t think it is fully to blame.
I have wondered if it is more due to the idea where people are encouraged to buy bigger and better stuff constantly. This is supposed to drive the economy, and if money isn’t flowing around somehow, the media portrays it like the world is collapsing. Not trying to sound like a conspiracy nut, I think that people have forgotten more important aspects of living.
You should read the book “Animal Farm” by george orwell. The way I see it is, that technology has brought about great strides by making things easier to do. (such as machines making products instead of people). But instead of the workers getting the extra product or leisure time from the advancements, the people “at the top” take more advances, and the rich get richer and the poor get exploited time and time again.(just a brief summary from what I remember of it, its a great insightful book, read it).
I’m kinda ranting, i know. but Ive been pondering a lot about the subject as well.
