Question by Ryan S: How do I identify what type of bamboo I have?
I have a bamboo grove that is near Grrenwood, SC. I am researching harvesting, selling, using it but i don’t know what species of bamboo it is. The poles get to be fairly tall, probably 20 feet or so(maybe more), couple inches wide at base, hollow and green. Any help is appreciated.

take a chunk to zoo, hide it in your pants so that it is inconspicuous. Go to the panda cage. Whip it out, looking like you aren’t doing anything, and stick it in the pandas mouth. if he likes it, you have narrowed it down. If he doesn’t, shove it back in your pants and move along.
