Question by Shanda K: What should I do for my peach tree?
There isn’t a single leaf on my peach tree and there hasn’t been for a year. I didn’t toss it because it was still green when I scraped its trunk. It is 8 feet tall and the trunk is about 3-4 inches around. This year flowers are sprouting here and there but still no leaves.
Is something wrong with it?

Good Evening Shanda K.
I hope you had a great day. Your question was not very informative. I took it upon my own to view your profile. I see you live in Pearland, Texas, a low temperature of 72.
Sometimes hard work does not pay off. In your case I think your peach tree's troubles are "Chill Factor". Peach trees require a minimum amount of cold temperatures known as "Chill Factor" If they do not receive the proper amount of "chill". They will NEVER bear.
First, you must find out what variety of peach you are trying to grow. Secondly, you must find out the "Chill Factor" for that variety of peach. Thirdly, you must find out the "Chill Factor" in your area. If the three above factors do not match, you are wasting your time.
Each variety of peach requires a different type of "chill factor" in order to break dormancy, grow leaves, bloom, and bear fruit. You must grow a variety of peach which matches the "Chill Factor" in your area. I wish I had more info to go on.
I have enclosed two websites for your area. I hope they will be helpful.

I grow nine (9) rare fruit trees. I am an organic backyard gardener. Right now I am researching and thinking about planting a “Peanut Butter Tree”.
