The subtitle is Why Living Smaller, Living Closer, and Driving Less are the Keys to Sustainability. Owens suggests that New York City is the most green community as opposed to places like Oregon and California. I did not read the book yet, but I have heard environmentalists say that future communities will be packed into small areas as opposed to suburbs or country homes. Americans might not be able to afford the house in the suburbs or the car to commute.
