My fiance and I are first time home buyers. We are also really interested in living in a green home. So we will either buy an existing home and renovate it with green appliances and features….or….we could build a modular home to our specifications. But we want to know of those of you who have gone modular, how much did it cost you? Including the house itself, finishing touches, construction stuff, everything included…is it worth it?

We know that there are many factors involved….that homes range in square footage and lot details come into play….we want to know what YOU paid and what it included. We are at very early stages with this and just want to get an idea of what is involved in the whole process…..

Your question is almost impossible to answer. Too many variables: Well, or city, septic or city, how big house, how much $ lot, what options, how long driveway, cost of permits, foundation or crawl or slab, 1-2-3 story, multi family or single.
The only thing I will tell you is to shop. I work at a mod dealer, and we have houses from 967 sq. ft. to 3900.
We just completed one that the total was $ 125K, and another that will be $ 225K
