Question by Jenny M: Care to share some renewable energy green living tips?
Just looking for some general tips on living greener, things such as solar panels, etc, that won’t cost a lot to implement? Of course, solar panels cost a fortune, but it’s an example. Thanks!

ive been trying to do the same thing. a few things ive done are: a) shop at thrift stores – they’re “recycled” clothing, and really cheap! b) im sure you’ve heard about flourescent lightbulbs, but those are definetly a good idea, c) carpool! or bike or walk, if you possibly can, or take public transport (classic, but it helps!!), d) dont buy bottled water. bottled water is a thousand times more expensive, americans throw away 2.5 million bottles every hour, and the chemical levels are way above health standards (or sometimes its just bottled tap water), e) eat organic and local. the genetically modified stuff is bad for you and the animal suffers a lot more (read Jane Goodall’s “Hope for Harvest”) and local saves so much pollution and helps for a more sustainable planet, f) make your own snacks like granola bars and things rather than buying packaged ones, g) turn out your lights even if your just getting a cup of coffee – the it-takes-more-energy-to-turn-them-on-and-off story is a myth. i could keep going, but thats plenty to get you started. you can always google ‘green tips’ and you’ll get stuff. also: www.350.org
