Hack up some ugly curtains to make funky throws and cushions.
Re-use containers that single serving puddings come in to plant seeds (poke a drainage hole in the bottom).
If you keep fish, use water changes to water your houseplants or garden. Similarly, let cooking water cool and use it to water your plant.
