Question by theresa: I would love to paint a design on my living room tray ceiling. Any ideas?
My walls are kind of an apple green. The ceiling is large and boring and painted a lighter shade of green. I am artsy and have painted simple murals before, but am afraid of doing something unique on the ceiling. My taste is transitional/contemporary. I was thinking of some sort of leaf/tree pattern – kind of muted, but would love more suggestions!

You could buy a 4′ x 8′ sheet of foam-core and tape it to the ceiling with double-sided tape. This will give you an area to test your abilities to paint upside-down and to test different designs. If you don’t like, just throw it in the trash. If you like, you now have experience and you will know what design is best. Have fun!
