Brown And Green Living Room Ideas How can I decorate a living room/kitchen area with navy blue carpet?

Question by heather h: How can I decorate a living room/kitchen area with navy blue carpet?
I just moved into a small apartment that has navy blue carpet throughout the whole thing. The walls are white and the kitchen floor is white tile with a little bit of dark blue in it. I want it to have a really earthy-hippie kind of feel too it with lots of candles and incense. Originally I had planned on using brown and green and burnt orange. However, the navy blue carpet is kind of standing in my way of that. Any ideas about what colors to use or for center pieces and stuff?

Use lighter shades of blue and white, silver, greys, black, violet (in small bits) and some greens that are compatible. You could have an undersea theme or an atmospheric theme.

Eco Green Living How do you help the environment in your daily life?

Question by Nicole: How do you help the environment in your daily life?
I recycle cans, bottles, boxes, wrappers, and papers. I compost my leftover food. I carpool to work daily. I hang my clothes outside to dry. I purchase “eco-friendly” cleaning products when needed.

What household products will work for cleaning what? (Baking soda, vinegar, et cetera…)
What else can I do to eliminate my “footprint” on the earth?

I do the same kind of stuff you do…im kinda a freak about recycling…lol! we went on vacation and the place we went to didnt have recyling bins and the people i was with started to just thow all of their cans and bottles away. I was like “Hey we can recylce thoes instead of having them sit in a landfill forever…” so i went to the trash and picked out all of the bottles and cans and stuff and got them all to make a recyling thing that we brought home with us! Lol! Im vegan also partly because the meat and dairy industry put out a drastic amount of waste from the animals and factories but thats just my personal prefrence (Im not trying t say you should be vegan so please dont take it that way!!! WAY too many people do but thats not what im saying!!!) I also have the energy efficent light bulbs (not LEDs the other kind) and my dad just bought us energy star appliences 4 our kitchen… I take the train to school too…and am starting a compost for my organic garden…

I read the book Gorgeously Green…Its FABULOUS and if you havent read it you tottaly should!!!

Pure Green Living How can I verify my car's antifreeze to water ratio without one of those testers?

Question by Anonymous: How can I verify my car’s antifreeze to water ratio without one of those testers?
In the summer I didn’t want to waste money on anti-freeze until I was sure the radiator patch would hold so I added straight water to the cooling system. The weather forecast where I live shows it will be down to 11F. I don’t have one of those testing kits. The coolant still looks dark green and feels slimy and I topped it off with pure antifreeze.

heck you never add just water never. You need to drain and mix 50/50 and refill. If you dont want to mix you can buy premix antifreeze
