Question by John: Should I put tyvek wrap on my new home?
I live in South Texas and I am wanting to build a energy efficient home. One Builder says I dont need the tyvek wrap, and another once says I do. Does it block out the humidity and is it a better air quality?

I say yes you do need it. It acts as a moisture barrier for your substrate. It’s relatively inexpensive when you look at the cost of building a house. Check out this link

I am working at a green design company that is looking for new ideas. These could be ideas for buildings, for products, or for projects. Basically, any idea that seems good, but requires some engineering or design work. Our selection criteria include aesthetics, affordability (we are looking for things “for the masses”, not things for the super-rich), and environmental sustainability.

buahahaha. then do your own job. lol. there are lots of good ideas out there that have not been discoved yet. i’m an architecture student so i have a lot to learn about all of these savers.I have all of my arch classes in an LEED certified building so its a great resource center. there are numerous ways to improve what already exists. good luck

This is a very old literature. However, the “new classic” book is “The Spatial Economy” by Fujita, Krugman, and Venables. There is some mathematics in the book, but the basic principles can be understood, I think, if you ignore the math.
